Seminar on circular economy at European Parliament fully booked
Green Budget Europe, together with the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP) and the Ex’Tax Project Foundation from the Netherlands, organises a high-level seminar on circular economy on Tuesday 27 November from 2 to 4 PM at the European Parliament (Altiero Spinelli building, room A5E-3) in Brussels.
The seminar will discuss the results of a project commissioned by the Finnish Innovation Fund (Sitra), which looked at the Finnish economy and – based on best practices in other European countries and initiatives from OECD, World Bank and other international institutions – produced a set of proposals on fiscal incentives to promote low-carbon and circular economy objectives in Finland.
The seminar will include keynote speeches from Mr Janez Potocnik (Co-Chair of the UN International Resource Panel and former Commissioner for the Environment, Science and Research) and MEP Sirpa Pietikäinen (former Finnish Minister for the Environment and longstanding member of the ENVI committee), who is also hosting the event.
After an overview of the project results presented by the three organisations (GBE, Ex’Tax and IEEP), we will hear comments from Ms Corina Hebestreit (Director of Euromines) and Mr Patrick ten Brink (EU Policy Director at European Environmental Bureau). Finally, there will be a panel discussion and questions from the audience before the closure of the event.
Due to high interest, the registration to the seminar has now ended. For those already registered, we advise you to reserve sufficient time (minimum 30 minutes) to go through security check, receive your badge and find your way to the meeting room.
