Workshop on Circular Economy

Green Budget Europe organises a workshop on circular economy in Helsinki. The event will be held on Thursday afternoon 14 June at the Finnish Innovation Fund (Sitra).

The purpose of the workshop is to consult Finnish experts on the different options to promote circular and low-carbon objectives that have been identified by the three participating organisations: the Institute for European Environmental Studies (IEEP), the Ex’Tax Project Foundation (Ex’Tax) and Green Budget Europe (GBE).

The project will also look at state subsidies, which remain a very sensitive issue in Finland. Recently, a parliamentary working group tried to propose a revision of these subsidies without success. Consequently, the workshop will provide a new opportunity to look into this subject by consulting national experts in the field, while making use of best practices and concrete examples available from other EU Member States.
