Fiscal Instruments for Biodiversity in Europe and Beyond

28th May 2018 - 30th May 2018

To achieve several of the SDG and Aichi targets requires the phase out and reform of biodiversity harmful subsidies and the introduction of economic/fiscal incentives.

To this end, the identification, definition and quantification of those is essential. Hence, in the international workshop on fiscal instruments experts with academic, practical and/or political experience from different countries debate on substantial, methodological, practical and political issues on the subject.

Objectives are the critical discussion of experiences and research results and needs from and of different countries.

Eventually the development of joint research and implementation strategies is an important topic, not at least to join forces for coordinated action thus to keep potential competitive impacts to a minimum, but the more to benefit from the advantages.
