Environmental Tax Challenges in the 21st Century: Urban Concentration and Increasing Transport

26th September 2018 - 28th September 2018

The GCET is the leading global forum for exchanges on the principles and practices of environmental taxation and other market-based instruments relevant for greening of the economy and a more sustainable development. Research presented at the previous eighteen conferences has helped provide a much stronger theoretical and empirical underpinning of the legal, economic and behavioral issues in this area. In line with the tradition, also this year a selection of the best contributions will be published in the prestigious book series “Critical issues in environmental taxation” from Edward Elgar publishers.

The scientific program for GCET19 will cover issues relating to Environmental Tax Challenges in the 21st Century: Urban Concentration and Increasing Transport. Abstracts and papers can be submitted within a broad range of related topics.

The conference will be hosted by CEU San Pablo University, situated in Madrid. The venue is easy to reach with public transport from everywhere in Madrid, including the airport. Conference hotels are well communicated with the University.

The target audiences for the GCET19 are individuals from all parts of the world who are interested in the exchange of ideas, information, and research findings about environmental taxation issues and sustainable economic development, including:

* Government officials from levels of administration including provincial, state, and territorial levels, ministries and departments of finance, taxation, transport, urban design, energy, water, environment, natural resources, etc.

* Representatives from International and Non-Governmental Organizations, Tax and Accounting professionals, private sector executives, and experts

* Academics from universities and institutions of higher education in the field of law, economics, taxation, accounting, public administration, environmental studies, etc.
